Account Manager
ECOM Cocoa Theobroma, part of the ECOM group, is a leading international commodity trader and processor of cocoa products with a turnover of over 1 billion USD. We supply semi-finished products to the chocolate industry globally and are based in Amsterdam.
We search for an Account Manager to sell our cocoa paste and butter to the German market.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the existing and new business sales within the cocoa products team and develop the relationships and opportunities from leads and targeted companies
- Strong emphasis on new business, targeting new accounts. Work on development of opportunities, accounts and territories in support of Commercial Manager.
- Build and grow a sales pipeline to ensure continuous over-achievement, through combining inbound leads, cold calling, market sector intelligence etc.
- Manage the full sales process, from prospecting to closing and ensure delivery against key performance metrics
- Manage approval process with existing and new customers together with Technical Sales Manager
- Engage with various stakeholders, navigating parallel processes with different persons
- Close contact to product line manager for the alignment of the cocoa powder portfolio
- Monitoring and administration of sales contracts, including hedging and FX
- Advising the senior management regarding the company strategy for the (global) cocoa product market in collaboration with management and Cocoa products team
- Analyzing the cocoa products market and create sales plan area/customer ; Profile potential prospects and develop leads
- Organization of promotional activities (events) and attend events, always looking out for new exciting relationships and opportunities
Requirements
- Have a Bachelor degree
- You are preferably fluent in German and English, both in writing and speaking
- Have a minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience in the food sector, preferably b2b and in a trading environment
- Goal-orientated, self-disciplined and structured, solution orientated
- You are a creative and innovative person with a track record to prove just that
- You are self-reliable and confident to make decisions to drive the business forward
- Be capable to work independently and in teams
- Be strong in maintaining relationships (i.e.: suppliers, clients)
- Have excellent communication skills to work with people from various levels
- Must have cultural sensitivity to work across the globe
- Be flexible to work under pressure in an everchanging environment
